Save the date for an upcoming webinar / panel chat regarding DSEI -Defence and Security Equipment International – the gigantic arms fair which plans to return to ExCel in September.
With 2800 exhibiting companies and 30,000 visitors, DSEI helps weapons makers connect with arms buyers from around the world. Many of these buyers come from the world’s most oppressive regimes, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Turkey, and are escorted round the fair by UK Government ministers. Exhibitors include BAE Systems and Leonardo – who have sold weapons worth £billions to the Saudi regime and its allies fighting the war in Yemen – and Elbit Systems whose drones and missiles are used against Palestinians.
DSEI is not just where war starts. It is where murderous borders are built. Where police are militarised. Where companies profit from weapons “tested” on Palestinians. Where nuclear weapons research gets showcased. Where the climate crisis is ignored.
