SUMMARY:CAAT at High Court: Eve of hearing solidarity with Yemen vigil
DESCRIPTION:CAAT’s Judicial Review re. arms sales to Yemen comes back to 
 the High Court on 31st January. They’ll be saying that the UK should not
  be selling arms to the Saudi-led coalition given the clear evidence of th
 e bombing of schools\, hospitals and homes. They estimate that more than 
 £23 billion of weapons have been sold to the Saudi-led coalition since th
 e war began in Mar 2015.\n\nCAAT plans a vigil on the eve of this hearing 
 to show solidarity with all those affected by the war in Yemen.\n\nJoin th
 em on 30th January from 6pm outside the Royal Courts of Justice\, Strand\,
  London WC2A 2LL – bring candles and banners (nearest Tube: Holborn)!  T
 here will be several distinguished speakers including Yemeni-Scouse poet A
 mina Atiq\, and David Wearing who is the author of “AngloArabia: Why Gul
 f Wealth Matters to Britain” and a former CAAT Steering Committee member
 . We’d expect the vigil to last til about 7.15 (perhaps a bit longer dep
 ending on weather).\n\nYou may also like to join them informally on the da
 y of the hearing itself\, 31st January\, either outside Court\, or in the 
 public gallery. They will be on site from 9am doing interviews and filming
 \, so it would be good to see you from then. If you wish to go into the co
 urt\, note that airport type security is in effect and space might be limi
 ted.  Given the court will be hearing very sobering evidence from the war 
 in Yemen\, we’d ask for a respectful demeanour in the hearing itself. At
  the request of our lawyers\, to avoid damaging the case\, please avoid sl
 ogans on t-shirts and banners in court\; outside\, feel free to be as loud
  as possible!\n\nNote: things can change at court at the last minute\, ple
 ase check back on this page for updates if you plan to travel.
