Global Day of Action: Students say No to War on Yemen

When

25/01/2021
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The war in Yemen has caused over 250,000 deaths and led to over 20 million people requiring humanitarian assistance. An entire generation of young people are at risk due to starvation.
This situation was not inevitable, but is the man-made result of years of bombing, human rights violations and naval blockades.
On the 25th January over 200 organisations are coming together to call on Western governments and demand an end to their roles in the war. This event will be a panel of speakers presenting on the topic, covering issues relating to Yemens current humanitatian situation, how Britains role in it is in violation of both international and British law, and further situating British arms trade in its wider historical context.
Confirmed speakers include:
Molly Mulready, a Former UK Foreign Office Lawyer
Andrew Feinstein, Executive Director of Corruption Watch, Shadow World Investigations and Author
Ahmed Al-batati, a British soldier who recently stood down from duty in protest against the UK’s role in Yemen
Students and young people are particularly encouraged to join since the discussion will be hosted by London Students for Yemen.
