 ned report\, ‘A Very British Problem’: The Evolution of Britain’s Mi
 litarised Policing Industrial Complex\, exploring the increasingly militar
 ised nature of British policing\, written by Researcher and Writer\, Dr Ke
 ren Weitzberg.\n\nThey will hold a panel conversation on Thursday 4 Aug\, 
 facilitated by writer\, producer and campaigner\, Siana Bangura\, with spe
 akers including Dr Weitzberg\, representatives from Netpol\, partners on t
 his project\, and campaigners and activist-academics focused on the topic 
 of state violence\, anti-racism and policing.\n\nYou can read a brief extr

 n\nSpeaker Biogs:\n\nDr Keren Weitzberg (Researcher & Report Author)\n\nKe
 ren is an interdisciplinary historian who works at the intersection of mig
 ration studies\, critical race studies\, and science and technology studie
 s (STS). Her work examines problematics related to mobility\, border-cross
 ing\, race-making\, and biometrics. She received her PhD from Stanford Uni
 versity and is a teaching fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies and 
 the History Department at University College London (UCL). Keren has over 
 a decade of experience carrying out archival research\, fieldwork\, and or
 al history in multicultural\, multilingual settings in East Africa\, colla
 borating with African scholars and practitioners. She has designed and led
  study abroad programmes and collaborated with civil society groups\, arti
 sts\, and scholars across the US\, UK\, continental Europe\, the Middle Ea
 st\, and Africa. Her work sits at the intersection of the disciplines of h
 istory and anthropology.\n\n\nAnnie Olaloku-Teriba\n\nAnnie Olaloku-Teriba
  is a writer and independent researcher based in London\, UK.\n\n\nAadam M
 uuse\n\nAadam is a political organiser working with various movements in t
 he UK\, and a Peace Studies student.\n\n\nEmily Apple (Netpol)\n\nEmily is
  the co-founder of Fitwatch\, and a writer\, activist and mother. She is a
 lso Editor at The Canary and Comms Co-ordinator at Netpol.\n \n\nFacilitat
 or Biog:\n\nSiana Bangura is a writer\, producer\, performer and community
  organiser hailing from South East London\, now living\, working\, and cre
 ating between London and the West Midlands.\n\nSiana is the founder and fo
 rmer editor of Black British Feminist platform\, No Fly on the WALL\; she 
 is the author of poetry collection\, ‘Elephant’\; and the producer of 
 ‘1500 & Counting’\, a documentary film investigating deaths in custody
  and police brutality in the UK and the founder of Courageous Films. Siana
  works and campaigns on issues of race\, class\, and gender and their inte
 rsections and is currently working on projects focusing on climate change\
 , the arms trade\, and state violence. Formerly a campaigner and co-ordina
 tor at Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT)\, she is currently a producer at
  Catalyst\, co-creating networks & ecosystems.\n\nAcross her vast portfoli
 o of work\, Siana’s mission is to help move marginalised voices from the
  margins\, to the centre.
