March 26th marks eleven years since the Saudi-led coalition started their brutal assault on Yemen. In that time, thousands of Yemeni civilians have been killed by Saudi bombs. The UN estimates that 377,000 war related deaths occurred by the end of 2021. Over 154,000 of these deaths were the direct result of the armed conflict. 21.6 million people need humanitarian aid.
CAAT estimates the real value of arms to Saudi Arabia, to date, is around £33.9 billion and there are also weapons supplied to other members in the Saudi-led coalition. Recently, air strikes on Yemen have been carried out by the US and Israel, with the former strikes reportedly supported by the UK’s Royal Air Force. The war in Yemen has caused one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
