SUMMARY:Vigil for Yemen
DESCRIPTION:March 26th marks eleven years since the Saudi-led coalition sta
 rted their brutal assault on Yemen. In that time\, thousands of Yemeni civ
 ilians have been killed by Saudi bombs. The UN estimates that 377\,000 war
  related deaths occurred by the end of 2021. Over 154\,000 of these deaths
  were the direct result of the armed conflict. 21.6 million people need hu
 manitarian aid.\n\nCAAT estimates the real value of arms to Saudi Arabia\,
  to date\, is around £33.9 billion and there are also weapons supplied to
  other members in the Saudi-led coalition. Recently\, air strikes on Yemen
  have been carried out by the US and Israel\, with the former strikes repo
 rtedly supported by the UK’s Royal Air Force. The war in Yemen has cause
 d one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.\n\nWe will have Ruth 
 Rohde from Shadow World Investigations and Sayed Al-Wadaei\, Director of A
 dvocacy at the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy as speakers.\n\n
 Join us at 6.30pm on Thursday March 26th outside Downing Street to stand i
 n solidarity with the people of Yemen and commemorate all the lives unnece
 ssarily lost in this brutal war.
